I’ve been using it to wash off the dirt and other stuff for about 2 months after every practice round. I heard it from other people that its okay to use a Mild dish detergent and I was wondering if palmolive is a mild dish detergent? weird question to ask i know haha but I’m also wondering if it isn’t, will it break down the metal in my clubs or something? hopefully it wont

I would say it’s fine, but others might know better than me

Of course it’s mild, you’re soaking in it…
Ha, ha, Madge.
You can use pretty much whatever you want, it doesn’t matter. I like to use Windex and an old dish scrubber. Shiny!

I generally use Dawn dishwashing detergent and a brass bristle brush (same one you use on the course) for the irons and a softer brush for the woods. Pretty much any dishwashing detergent will do. Just be sure to dry them off with a towel before putting them back in the bag so they won’t rust.

Palmolive or any detergent is perfect.
Don’t be to bothered about getting all the bubbles off either, it makes for a tackier grip.

It is impossible for a dishwashing detergent to break down the metal of a golf club. However harsh detergents can have an effect. The best cleaning fluid is Aqua Fresca( plain clear water) After play soak the clubheads in water, get an old Turkish towel , a sharp pointed wooden golf tee and a dry towel Take one club. Wipe the face and shaft with the wet towel. Use the sharp pointed wooden golf tee to lift any remaining gunk from the grooves. Dry with dry towel. For the grips rub briskly with the wet towel and dry thoroughly with the dry towel. Repeat the process on all the other clubs and you will always have a clean , playable set of clubs.

Almost any detergent or soap is fine for the metal part of the club. Don’t use any thing acid or solvent because it will erode the surface. By the way, a old tooth brush is great to clean the grooves.
If you have a non-metal shaft, I normally just wipe it down with a wet towel since there isn’t any ‘dirt’ on it.
Palmolive and a dish washing sponge is what I use to wash the grip to get the sweat and grinds out.
