Is it against golf course etiquette to wear baseball spikes when you go golfing?

I usually wear tennis shoes golfing but it is supposed to rain and i needed to know if it is “frowned upon” to wear baseball cleats on a golf course

Yes. Baseball cleats are a lot different than golf cleats. I wouldnt do it.

The baseball spikes I have seen are cleats of considerable size rather than the thin pins used with golf shoes. Walking with those cleats on a green, especially on a rainy day with leave nasty dents that will both be visible and make the balls bounce around on what is supposed to be a smooth surface.

I wear them all the time. You get better footing when you wear baseball spikes. I’m assuming they’re metal spikes. That’s what I use. I wouldn’t wear anything else.

Patrick S is a complete idiot..not only are baseball spikes forbidden but they will do severe damage to the green..In fact in the last 10 years golf shoes with spikes have been forbidden on any half decent golf course..Pros are allowed to use spikes in competition but most have gone to the soft soft spikes…I even doubt you can buy metal spike golf shoes anymore cause theres no market for them in the U.S. If you are a serious golfer you will invest in a pair of proper golf shoes..

Take Patricks advice however assume that he is the one that never plays golf because he is a moron and any golf course seeing anyone wearing baseball cleats will be tossed. Baseball cleats (the metal ones) are flat sheet metal about 1/2″ wide and maybe .071 thick. Golf spikes are just that…SPIKES ! Because these metal golf spikes were doing horrible damage to the club house floors and whatnot many course now require the soft spikes. If you were to wear baseball cleats and walk on a green you would do some serious damage. Golf spikes actually are good for the greens because they help aerate them. Wear them while you mow your lawn at home !
If you are going to golf, you need a pair of golf shoes. You will need the extra grip. If you play in sneakers, you will lose power.
