ive only played alone once and ill never do it again. it was pretty boring and i did worse bc i was thinking to much about what i could do better in turn making me worse. i listened to my ipod tho the whole time and i suppose that kept me company but it gets pretty boring not having anyone there but the game deffinetly goes faster so its not to bad.
I’m pretty much in my own mind when I play, whether it’s by myself or with other people, so there’s no change. I’m just thinking about how I want to play the next shot.
I have only played by myself once. I will do it again someday. Being alone on the golf course is no different than being alone anywhere else. If you enjoy your own company it shouldn’t be a problem.
Play was slow on the day I played by myself as there were two groups of 5 in front of me. I would check and see if I was holding anyone up and if not, I would drop a second ball and see if I could play my shot different than I had played the first one with better results.
i blank out the rest of the world when i golf by myself. i get into a zone and i don’t break that zone for the entire round, but somedays when i do golf my myself i can be crusing and get kind of bord, so i’ll sing a song to myself or beat box, do something with a beat to keep myself moving.
but try and get into a zone where you think of nothing but the next shot, dont even think of the previous one, even if it was an amazing shot, and especially if it was a bad one, forget about it, and assess the next shot. just clear your mind. get in a zone, and nothing else should matter while you in that zone.
In order to play golf alone, you have to really love the game. It’s like practicing two hours on the range by yourself. I’m addicted so I can play alone no sweat. It depends how much you like the game…
You play two balls and play your worst shot. Play two from that spot and play your worst ball again. Keep playing the entire hole that way, until both are in the cup. Play the entire 9 that way and see what you shoot. See if you can break 50 playing that way. Good Luck!

I find that I can concentrate better when I golf alone. Even better if I’m walking. I think about my next shot and what I need to do to hit it well.

Concentrate on what I’m doing.
If I’m playing a round by myself, then I’m not having to socialise; I can simply worry about my round.
My pace of play is dramatically better, and I tend to not get distracted.
I can always socialise at the 19th hole.
