What do YOU think is the best time of day to go golfing? Why?
All opinions welcome.
I like to go early in the morning. Start around 8 and finish around 12.

I prefer going out at 1 p.m.In Atlanta the heat index is about 100 degrees at that time.I like to have the course to myself.Pushing the body is good. And most people are to soft to play in tough conditions.

best time would b either 10-11 because the ground slowly dries up and u finish if ur playin in a group about 2.30 so then it would be good weather

Late morning so you can sleep in at the same time. Lunch is also good since everybody’s already eating and you won’t have to wait as long to get out.

Anytime you are on a golf course is a good time to play golf because any amount of time away from the wife is good. However, i prefer 2-3 in the afternoon. The course is clearing out, twilight rates on the cart, and dinner waiting when you get done. Perfect

I love playing in summer in the late afternoon (Three cheers for daylight saving)
I love the light then it tends to be softer and the shadows across the course just look great
When I was younger, a mate and I would play the open day at St Michael’s in Sydney every Thursday.
We usually teed off at 9 to10 AM. We would play 18 holes in the comp ( usually took us 4 hours) and then have something to eat in the club house along with 3-4 schooners of beer. After 2 hours we would then go out for another 18 holes.
The Afternoon round was always great. The course is right on the coast and has fairways lined with acacias, the light would be just great
Greg and I had some memorable battles in the afternoon rounds.
I remember one round where I beat him at the 18th with a matching birdie to win shooting a
5 under par 67 to his 68.
Those rounds don’t happen as often as they used to and I no longer have the pleasure of his company on the course, but they are still some of the most pleasurable times I have ever had on the a course

It depends what time of year but in the summer, 8:30 would be the best because the course isn’t too wet because the sun has been out for a little and the weather isn’t too hot.

First things in the morning is the best time to play golf. I love hitting the links at around 7 am when the sun is coming up and the dew and mist is rising from the greens.

To me, golfing in the morning is my second favorite time of day to golf. Cool temp., dew still on the grass, golfcourse not horribly torn up…but the problem I run into is getting stuck behind people.
I like playing in the evening, say around 5-6, because the wind usually dies down, no one is on the course, and you can usually play 18 in about 2:30-3 hours. I like to have the hole course to myself so I can skip holes, hit practice shots, basically do whatever you want. I play golf to relax and get away, and this is the time that I find to be best fit for that.
It also helps to have a pass at the course if you are plying at night…

First thing out…nobody in front of me means I can finish very quickly and then think about playing a second round.
