Look around for some nice vintage golf bags. Put some clubs in each bag and place them in the corners of various rooms.

If you plan on using them again don’t store them in the garage. The heat can ruin your grips. Maybe neatly in a closet somewhere? If there vintage you could maybe hang them on a wall in an office or something.

If you want to take care of them, place some shrink wrap or plastic bags over the grips, and smear a little lite oil on the club heads and shafts. Typically you can go to any golf store/dealer/sporting goods store and get boxes for free that they got new irons shipped in.

The best way to store clubs in in a golf bag. No ifs ands or buts about it. Clean the clubs thoroughly and dry. Cover the grips with a plastic bag or something to keep them from rotting. Use head covers or socks if you don’t have enough covers to cover every club. Store them in a dry place. If you don’t have that many golf bags, you could build a club rack out of 2×4 and dowel rods. But make sure they are covered well.

I use duct tape to wrap around the shafts. Two bands one below the grips and one above the heads works well. The only problem with keeping clubs in storage is the grips tend to dry out.
