Why did Bush and Reagan do the same thing?

One of his chip shots might land in the BP oil pipe and plug the leak. After all, he is the messiah, so have faith.

Same thing both Bush and Reagan did when they didn’t show up and send wreaths instead on several of their Memorial Days in office.
    Here:

Both Presidents Bush, and President Reagan, have been absent from Arlington on Memorial Day on several occasions. The only President in the last 30 years to have been there every year of his term is Bill Clinton. I seem to have read someplace that BHO will speak at a Memorial Day service at a Veterans Affairs cemetery in Illinois.

He claims they have 18 Flags on a Golf Course and none of them promote archaic principles, like freedom and democracy. “Michele for the last time have you seen my putter?”

A better question is why isn’t the C & C taking care of his oil spill. The biggest recipients of oil money are Democrats who voted to allow the drilling to take place. it is a Democrat Baby, now they need to take care of their oil spill.

A Chicago BBQ with friends or……..providing the presidential gesture as commander & chief to lay a reef at the unknown soldier’s grave @ Arlington? Hummmmmmm…pass the corn please!

    That’s your Obama for ya.

Obama’s actions are a result of the fact that he does not share our culture. He was never raised as an “American”. You think he ever celebrated the 4th of July growing up in Indonesia or any holiday that celebrate America and/or it’s military?

Because of what happened at Arlington last year, he saw the walking dead. In his speech last year he commended all of those who had died for their country, and he said that he saw many them in the audience.

Because you can clearly see where his loyalty lies. On a green golf course, continuing to chase the whitey so he can sink it. Bush never did the same thing, to all those who say otherwise.

President Obama will be speaking at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery while Vice President Biden will be at Arlington. Contrary to reports by right-wing sensationalist hacks this is far from the first time a president has not been at Arlington on Memorial Day. (Not so) nice try though.

because he is ‘focused like a laser’ on fixing the oil spill.. it is his ‘top priority’.

  17. Onlooker Says:

They all did it — Bush I, Bush II, Reagan. Obama is going to speak at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery near Chicago, so it’s not like he’s forgetting our veterans.

  18. JW B Says:

Um he IS celebrating veterans…like GHW Bush and Reagan (well actually Reagan did not even bother to honor soldiers personally in any way in 1983)…he is just doing it somewhere else.

Why are veterans laid to rest at cemeteries other than Arlington less worthy of being honored?

Obama will speak at veterans cemetery; Biden to lay wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. A White House press release states: “On Monday, the President will participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Also on Monday, the Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden will host a breakfast for Gold Star Families at the White House. Afterwards, the Vice President and Dr. Biden will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.” Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery is dedicated as a national cemetery within the VA’s National Cemetery Administration.

1992: George H.W. Bush allowed VP Quayle to lay wreath. In 1992, Vice President Dan Quayle laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, according to a May 26, 1992, Boston Globe article. The Globe reported that President George H.W. Bush attended a wreath-laying ceremony and made brief remarks at an American Legion hall in Kennebunkport, Maine, where he also played a round of golf.

1983: Reagan attended summit meeting; Defense Department official Thayer laid wreath at Arlington. Deputy Secretary of Defense W. Paul Thayer laid a wreath at Arlington Cemetery during the Memorial Day ceremony in 1983, according to a May 31, 1983, Washington Post article. The Associated Press reported that President Reagan attended a “summit meeting in Williamsburg, Va., with leaders of the industrialized democracies.”

  20. mr danger Says:

Well according to the Cons on this site the only honored dead who are worthy of a visit by the President are those A-listers who are buried at Arlington National Cemetery
If a person who served was unfortunate enough to be buried at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery -then they are not worthy of getting honored by the President himself>Obama disagrees with that position and will honor those Illinois veterans on Monday

  21. Huh? Says:
    January 22nd, 2011 at 6:56 am

He is spending Memorial Day at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery not playing golf, basketball or vacationing. He will be attending ceremonies honoring our fallen veterans, just not at Arlington.
